It is to learn what your instrument can do.
Some people believe or think, that they achieved the ultimate/phat sound with their instrument(s)
But if person A posts a Reason Saw example, and person B posts a better sample with Reason, then person A knows hey, i still didn't reach my goal. (Part of the learning process in producing)
I could post my rns here yes, but will you learn something? not really, you will just copy. You will have to laern to make everything out of blank patches.
And who says no one shares? maybe it happens through email or pm. |

i understand if someone dont want to share becouse the producer have used a lot of time to make it right..
but i learn better when i see it, becouse i dont understand everythin becouse of my poor english..
and if someone reason user want to show his/hers talent but dont want to share it then you can put rps file here.. what we cant edit or copy..

i see this guys point. at the very least, include details of the synth that made it, how many multi parts it used (if any), what external effects were used on and whether it was mastered or not prior to being uploaded. you dont even need to dissect the patch for all to see or upload the midi file or whatever.
otherwise it just turns into one big pissing contest. har har! my synth is better than yos - FOO. |

A low-key, basic effort witn a Virus Indigo (v1), recorded totally dry. The controls were tweaked live halfway through to give a slightly different sound (possibly more faithful) in the second part of the loop/riff (ie. from 00:28 secs+ onwards). Just one patch being used though, three osc's, but no unison.

No post-processing or mastering effects. No reverb either, as the internal delay effect was being used (VirusB's allow only one or the other to be used at any one time).

pS > Nice thread. That V-Station patch was great. I'm not sure why people diss the K/A/V-station breeds. I reckon they have a really decent, unique sound. A bit light on spec's and polyphony though.
The infamous crackling/noise issue on the hardware K-Stations was meant to have been resolved after Focusrite aquired Novation (late summer 2004) and gave the K-Station operating system a total re-haul. |
