Try STA Travel, you should be able to get a student ID card which will give you discounts all over Europe. As for a place to stay, like all of Europe stay in a hostel, you can get them as cheap as $10 euros a night which is about $8 american. Pick up a book called Lets Go!! It should be yellow, you can get it for all off Europe or for which ever country, city. ITs is the ideal book for a college student looking to travel cheap, it gives you everything from Hotels, to clubs, to places to shop. My Youger siste traveled through Europe while living in SPain and called the Lets Go book her bible.

Hope that helps

MY fee: the best ing herb you can find in Amsterdam:crazy:

Sunshine79 and myself booked our flights through expedia....I believe they were $450 round trip. I don't really remember the name of the hotel we stayed in but it was one block from Dam Square.....I wouldn't suggest it to anybody unless you like climbing 5 flights of narrow ass stairs with your luggage. As far as clubs go....check out Club Panama and Powerzone. Also you must go to the red light district.

brian, we stayed at the Daam Straat.

I went two years ago and stayed at Bob's Hostel's...it was a few blocks up one of the main streets from the main trainstation. It was like $15 a night, and we got put in a room with like 10 other people. I personally was fine with that, but my friends bitched a moaned. There are hostels all over the place that offer cheap accomadations.

hostel seems the way to go but i would probably bitch too. i value my privacy. and it really sucks how strict they are about how many people stay in a hotel room with you. its not like around here where you can pack 15 people in a room if you really wanted and say there's only 2 of you, lol.

i went there several years ago and stayed at a 4 star hotel. If that fancies u, let me know, ill try to pull up some info.

i'd check around on hostels.com and hotels.com

i stayed somewhere from hostels.com (i think??) right by the heineken brewery, 4 beds (i was traveling with 4 people), private bath, was like 25euro ($30-something) per person per night :)

and don't let the word "hostel" scare you away, many hostels have private rooms as well, at really nice prices ;)

if you are a student then try www.studentuniverse.com

i have found some great deals on that site.

for hostels and hotels try http://www.europeanhostels.com/fall/

i have found some good stuff on there, but you really have to know what you are getting into. i stayed at a christian hostel (and i am not a devout christian, but the best deals were there and i still felt a little strange). i have had great luck with other hostels from this site in other countries so i think this site is great. try the local forums for cheap places to stay. just try and stay at something in the centre, b/c travelling publice transport kind of sucks when you smoke alot....

good luck and have fun!

if you're going and plan on hitting up clubs, make sure you stear clear of hostels that have curfews. I remember having to sprint about a half of a mile through Amsterdam side streets, while shrooming, trying to make my hostel's 3:00 am curfew.
