Watch out for him in April !!!

Hey guys check out what South Africa has to offer in the Trance scene by visiting
www.surge.dj
He's our very best, and you can check out Mpegs of our parties and live sets by Surge on his site

Let me know what you think
HLDSHA003
Yeah he is good..my only problem is he is carbon copy dj tiesto...ever since he changed styles from SHOKK/Dumonde'ish style trance his sets seem to mirror tiesto's tracklists at any one point in time...BUT..i live in Cape Town and he is mainly based in Joburg so the occasions i've seen him may not be representitive...

In terms of other talent here tho..he is as close to international quality as we have

Hi guys,

Honestly guys. This Dj Surge can only mix well and one style of mixing after the send break . He only plays hits in his sets & never ever took me for a journey in his sets. I thinks he's only big cause he brought a lot of International Dj's to South Africa and made friends with them. For a Dj he's not really good (meaning skills, track selection. He's just not original.

he should sponsor the drink

Are you on drugs? He may have a radio show on one of the biggest national radio stations but he is living on the fact that he got in first..like ten years ago..

Anybody here will tell you his mixing is dodgy at times when really..affter so long in the game he should be doing it with his eyes closed and one hand behind his back..tracklistings are cheesey as ..i mean he plays the vocal mix of Ton tb's Dream machine..honestly..anybody in this country will tell you he is pants

If you want talent..look no further than Anton Natrass..CLASS

As I would agree that each person is entiled to their own opinion..... The one thing is that No other DJ is in his class here in SA. I take my hat off for Anton Nathrass and he's a personal friend but he's still climbing the ladder.
There's not a club or event that Surge doesn't rock today !!

This is coming from someone that deals with International DJs regularly and I wouldn't put him on the international roster if he couldn't cut it.

South Africa is a very critical market both towards local and International talent.... If he wasn't that good then he would have never made it this far.

Surge is SA's best dj now?

I've been gone 3 years only, looks like I left at just the right time, lol

I remember one mix cd him and dizzy did, was awful :D

As for Derek the bland tit :whip: :whip: :whip:

When I left, top dogs were Jason 47 and Shylo in Cape Town, Nick E Louder had become a joke following the demise of Unity, but none of them could compare to Ken, god rest his soul :(

Ken was the ultimate, he personified what a dj should be
