Most people in the world are good!
Most people like other people. Most are patient, respectful or at least tolerant of differences, will help those in need or those less fortunate, will listen, will share, protect the young, nurture the old, care for their sick...
overall, most people are wonderful.
Unfortunately those with the most power are the most destructive, most selfish, and the least considerate. Fortunately, they are not the majority.

Depends.
I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but that's like asking "which flavor is better: Chocolate or Vanilla?"
Half-empty, half-full?
Man or woman?
:wtf:
I like the see the good in people, especially when others see the bad. It may be a character flaw, but I refuse to judge people as "bad" based on just a few instances where they have demonstrated their non-correspondence with societal mandates.
Luminous beings are we - so much more than these paltry shells, and so much more than these sticky objects and [im]morals. Every person has the capacity for perfection, thus, it is truly not a question of "is this person good or bad?" as much as it is a question of "has this person realized what is truly important in life yet?". Human behavior is based on incentives - when people actualize what they want and know how to get it in the most universally favorable way possible, then they, with inhibition in regards to morality, can seek to find what it is that makes them and those around them happy. That's all there is to it.
It was once said that you can judge the calibre of a person's personality based on how they treat those people who are the least important to them. Time and time again, I have found myself helping perfect strangers and even people who have demonstrated themselves to be unfavorable by the masses - I'm not saying that I'm a saint in any sense of the word, but I do what I feel to be right.
So, from my biased, but absolutely necessary point of view, most people are good at heart. |
