Pink Parking spots (pg. 2)

OMG Jay !! Sometimes you can be so cold hearted... Families with small children and expecting mothers should be allowed to park a little closer. Its not just the closeness factor, these spots save them from driving around a busy parking lot looking for a spot, which (on a busy day) can be stressful.

Think about all the single Dads and Moms that have a hard time raising little kids, and if that spot would makes things a bit easier, then great.

Honestly Jay I think you spend too much time getting yourself all worked up about every little thing. You cant change the "pink" parking spots, to focus your energy on something positive for once...

This parking spots are a blessing to some women. The last stages of pregnancy are very uncomfortable. And who's to say that the pregnant woman isn't a passanger???

I voted yes...but naturally I want to qualify my vote ;)

at a supermarket, or other place of business where it's pretty much a necessity to go...yes...and a FEW spaces, yes. The Dominion down on Lakeshore...I haven't been there for a while, but don't they have a whole bunch of spots??? They are *always* empty...or I just see someone park there who clearly is not a "mother to be", lol.

at a shopping mall...um...not so necessary. I think someone can go without the shopping spree for the couple of very uncomfortable months (please don't hate me, ladies!)

people against these spots altogether often seem to be hung up on ridiculous "equality" notions...well, guess what...not everyone is equal. Most young men have a much better state of mobility than an 8.5 month expectant mother ;) And pregnancy is a temporary state...I certainly don't advocate spots for the obese, for example, lol.

It strikes me as absurd that people will be ok with disabled parking, but not 'expectant mother' parking...same , really...except that you're generally permanently disabled, so that parking should be more readily available at more places.

If she's a passenger(note the spelling :)), the pregnant woman is either smart enough to ask the driver to drop her off at the entrance to the place, or shes too stupid to do that in which case she deserves to walk 20 extra meters like the dumb bitch she is.

Honestly, unless she gets on one of those cool old fart cart things as soon as she gets in the mall I dont see the point of these things.

I would also like to give props to the guy that managed to cajole an entire 'angry dad's oh what is wrong with our kids today!' essay out of diginut with only three sentences. You're my kind of people.:happy2:

while I don't agree on your stance re: parking spaces... I am glad someone else said "wtf" when DigiNut came outta leftfield with the nutty kids bit.

Like, does it really make a difference to anyone here, including me if the parking spaces are there or not? Not really, so we might as well have them because chances are, they do prove useful for some women.

Personally tho, I would like to it see it made harder to obtain the handicapped driver thing. Cuz quite often I see someone park in the handicapped spot, get out, and stroll with easy to the store. But, they are still handicapped?!?

If society is so weak that a family cant stand the thought of driving around looking for a parking space then we need some sort of reality check.

If pregnancy is really a disability then lets solve the "problem" with temporary disabled passes for pregnant women. Problem solved.

THAT sounds more like it.

I've always wondered why it wasn't that way in the first place?

You obviously dont have a pregnant wife. They are worse than hadicapped people.

P.S Pink spots are for expecting mothers.
