let's not forget that Israel ALREADY did something like this...
they did an air strike on a nuclear site in Iraq in the early 80's (correct me if i'm wrong)
and the pilot who flew the sortie (sp?) was on the Columbia, which broke apart during re-entry not too long ago (again, correct me if i'm wrong...)
btw, like it or not, the question isn't IF there will be a military strike in some form or another against Iran, it's WHEN... |

Do you think Iran is gonna sit and watch Isreal bombing them?:p |
I dont really think they have a choice. Not sure how many nukes Israel actually has but the whole point of nukes is not that they are used as an offensive weapon, but that they act as a detterent...therefore, if the theory remains sound, Iran has no choice but to sit back and watch Israel bomb its nuclear sites |

Yea only about 10 or so though.
I heard a certain European country starting with a U ending with a K has this stated goal too ...;) |
Which 10? Just out of interest like... |

Lets see, these are just off the top of my head:
Syria, Lebanon, PLO, Saudi Arabia, Iran,
UAE, Oman, Yemen, Qatar, Algeria, Libya, Sudan. Well there you go, about ten or so. |

Well the PLO do not have the stated aim of the destruction of Israel so did you make the other ones up as well? Can you give me the sources that say these countries have as an official policy the destruction of Israel? |

You can add me to the list if you like.
Does the US have nuclear weapons capabilities (like they reckon Iran and N. Korea have)? |

So your saying that if Iran tries to defend itself that Israel will nuke them? Gimme a break.
Israel has enough problems as it is already. The last thing they're going to do is provoke the arab world even more. |

Whether or not Israel has enuf problems or not, it has bombed enemy nuclear reactors in the past (at a more dangerous era in strategic terms) and I have no doubts they would do it again to maintain the balance of power (in Israel's favour). I'm not saying Israel will use nuclear weapons against Iran, what I am saying is that Iran, altho it may attempt to defend its actual sites (anti-aircraft weapons or whatever) but Iran will be powerless to do anything else (launch attacks against Israel etc). In fact, if Israel uses ballistic missiles to bomb Iran's nuclear sites, then yes, Iran will have little chance but to sit back and watch them go (otherwise, as Israel is a nuclear state and Iran isn't, Iran would face 'assured destruction' if they did attempt to launch attacks against Israel) |

i think it will be much more difficult this time to attack the nucleur sites. Iran learned the lesson of Iraq... i'm sure their facilities are well hidden\undergorund. and i guess they have several of them, not just one. |

| Apparently Iran has a bunch pointed at Israel as well as all the US Military sites within reach. This comes from someone who has just recently been to Iran.... |
