Its the onboard video that is killing you man. Your system is fine. Go out and buy a nice video card, an Nvidia 6800 or even one of the cheaper Geforce FX series cards and you'll see a big difference. ATI cards are good too, the XT800 is pretty nice. One thing that would be helpful, particularly to me, is your 3DMark score. I have the same setup as you, 1GB Ram, 3Ghz CPU. Running the very newest 3DMark, I get a little over 1000 for a score. Running the older 2003 version, which is what I suggest you run, I get about a 6700 score. Run that and let me know what you get. With that onboard video, I bet you'll only get something in the 1,000-2,000 range.

For doom 3...none of those cards in the page will be any good :( . As Magnus mentioned download the 3dmark01SE or 03 and see what your scores are. The links are here:

3dmark01SE

3dmark03

Try also a reformat because worms should run well, I had a friend with a sound driver conflict that really slowed him down. Try the 3dmark01SE and post your score.

umm.. you have a card that is 2-3 generatoins behind in term of graphic power. So its sort of an downgrade if u upgraded from onboard agp in todays standard. I think you got rip off if u got the 8500 for alot in upgrading it from onboard agp. better to build your own than to buy retail unless u goto specialty shops like alienware, falcon nw, dell, and

whats teh specs?

I just got Radeon 9550 Extreme 128 mb and all the games speeded up really significantly

3DMark03 score was 776

It ran fairly well during the flying game and ran incredibly slow during the nature one.

That sounds about right, even better than I expected from an onboard video. Checkout this link: http://service.futuremark.com/compare?2k3=3657102

thats the score of someone with a P4 3Ghz and a radeon 9200, 641 total score! I would try a clean reformat and make sure there are no conflicts in the hardware. What kind of sound card/onboard do you have?

O.K now, tomorrow I'm going to be looking for a video card and my price range is probably going to be up to about 150 bucks, my selection are the cards from this website http://www.factorydirect.ca/catalog...st.php?cat=VIDE

So what would be my best bet then?

I have a computer with an integrated video card so can I disable it?

It's a tad confusing but it's a pretty basic one, I'm seeing Realtek HD audio as well as Legacy audio

First of all, make sure you computer has an AGP slot, you did mention its fairly new...so it is possible it has PCI-E but highly unlikely. If you checked already, disregard this part.

The one boxed in white is the AGP slot and the one boxed in blue is pci.

Make sure you have an AGP slot, now as for that site, I personally would not buy from that site because of the selection. Dammit if only newegg did international shipping, at the moment I cant find anything, but I know for sure a 9600 pro would be in your pricerange, keep an eye out for it.
