Miss Jones and the producer...along with the guy who said all chinese people should be shot only got a 2 week suspension...
i jus had a deep discussion with one of my good friends about racism and racial profiling...hes muslim and some stupid idiot approached him saying "Oh dont piss mo off...or he'll bomb ur house" which is how islamic people are being profiled as.
This is serious...even small cases like this...
I kno for a fact that being italian im label'd as a wife beater...alcoholic...mobster etc...
even tho i put my mother over God...hate the smell of vino/beer etc...and feel like vomiting over the thaught of taking someones life...
to sum it up....u r WRONG diginut in ur response that any act of racism is freedom of speech...if anything its an act of humiliation to respectable and intellectual human beings who dont not judge as a simple-minded person were to judge :rolleyes: . Let it be known to u and anyone who follows ur ideaology...that i am human...and i dont what up every mourning planning to discriminate anyone...nor do i take pleasure or comic relief in de-grading another nationality or gender

No, actually, you're the one that needs a reality check, not to mention a spell check, ffs.
"Racist" speech IS free speech. It may be tasteless speech; it may be ignorant speech; it may be completely ing morally bankrupt speech; but it is still one of the RIGHTS that our whole society is founded on. Anyone who's lost sight of that principle really ought to get the out of North America. You've forgotten (or perhaps never knew) how to draw the line between an and a criminal. People who rely on the law and petty protesting to settle trivial personal issues are cowards.
Sebasano - it sounds like you've got some major issues of your own to work out. I think it's been about 200 years or more since Italians have been labeled as wife beaters, alcoholics, and mobsters. There are dozens of other Italians on this board alone - none of them complain of racism. Talk to them, and maybe they can solve your identity crisis and teach you how to accept and come to terms with who you are.
Most of you don't even know what the racism is. I've had very important doors closed in my life for no reason other than MY LAST NAME. And you know - I never stop to bitch and whine about it, because it's completely unproductive and accomplishes nothing. I can't believe that a friggin' Italian living in Canada would complain about racism. Italians are not even a race! Like I said before, some of you are just WAY too ing sensitive. I blame it on the anti-bully movement in elementary schools - being bullied is what toughens people up for the really important stages of life, and now we've got a country full of pussies. |

Racism sucks! and this thread is Not beating a dead horse as some people seem to think because every racist act needs to be kept in check and oh! anyone who says its only words, well listen up! If we are not careful, these mere words can become normalized around us.
Diginut, I enjoy reading your stuff more often than not but doooooode- Try not to bust balls too often, you seem ever ready to tear down your fellow humans. That's kewl that tough love has helped you but it might not work for everyone. and finally- I would've expected more out of you than referring to a whole country as "full of pussies"- do i smell sexism? tsk tsk :whip:

I understand what you are saying. I've been around the former Soviet Union for 13 years, travelled and seen things. Personally, even though I spent most of those younger years in Russia, I've seen so much hate and jealousy towards the Russians from the neighbouring countries and other ethnic minorities. I was looked at like I was some kind of a Nazi or a killer of some kind. I heard enough curses, bad words and like that. There's so much hate on this planet. |
