How to make a good SETUP??

Hi DJs of TA,

Im wondering how do you setup your sound/equip n etc? *bedroom*

Here is my setup.. *sorry no pic*

Everything the Turntable & CDJ decks & Mixer.. Just like the common setup
Turntables, CDJs & Mixer in the same row.. but the SPEAKER/MONITOR.. r on the left & right of my tables.. direct straight to my both ears.. just like in a club monitor.. left & right of ur deck... I finf it convinient... i can beatmatch & mix smoothly...

But now my problem is... i tried to spin in clubs.. the DJ booth is just like my bedroom setup... but the problem is when i play in club i was annoyed by the sound from the dancefloor... it gives me echo & kinda noise pollution!! i cant hear any f@kin thing on the monitor, everything is just like an echo of BASS.. i tried to swicht off the monitor but i get worse... i f@k up my mixing

SO back to my question, my point is "i want to spin smoothly in club, just like how i do in my bedroom"

How can i setup everything?? maybe to make it a pratice like spinning in club *but dont tell me to transform my room like a club :P*

So maybe any solution from u Djs?? should i hang another speaker to annoyed me... or something...or what?? argghhh im confuse.....

Please help me guys :(

If you want to replicate a club environment:

-Turn all your lights off, and have someone flicking the light switch on and off fast constantly.
-Get some huge huge pa speakers kicking out obscene amount of power and bass, and put a delay on them, and have them facing you from in front of your turntables. Coat your walls and floor in glass for that extra reverberation effect just to confuse you further. It will replicate closely the delay you would experience in a large club.
-Fill your room with lots of drunken idiots/pill heads
- chuck a couple of playboys, empty glasses and plates and dirty laundry on the floor, and have your mom come into the club and start hoovering while you are spinning

Spinning on a club system takes some getting used to at first, basically due to the sheer power and volume of it. the delays in time you can get used to

No one ever said it was easy! Practice! Be as good as you can possibly be and as comfortable on your bedroom setup as possible.

You could always build your own club, and incorporate your bedroom into the dj booth.

In a club its easier to mix with the higher range elements of a tracks like the hihats instead of the kick because of the delay you get. Practice beatmatching with the hihats and also practice mixing in your headphones if you're having trouble with the monitors a club has setup you can always just move into your headphones.

LOL

Putting xtc junkies in my bedroom... my parent could have kill me :wtf:

But yeah i mean that the DELAY... that f@kin that f@k me up :(
How can i create something like a delay in my bedroom... i need those delay to annoyed me.....

I know practice...no doubt! But i have been practicing hard... but i still cant deal with club Booth.....

But yeah a good point to from Zild... beatmatch hithat... THANKS m8

Thank to Freak too.... :gsmile:

What kind of mixer do you have?, if it has effects, then just put a 1/2 beat or 1/1 beat delay on the master signal, and have it on fully wet, THAT will give you a delay, or go nuts and put it on a 8/1 beat delay and have fun.:D

wouldnt it just b easier to mix in ur headphones when mixing at that club?
bokus
Bout to say the same thing. I havent mixed in a club, but if your cans have good isolation i dont see a problem mixing in head phones. I used to mix with 1 hear open to the speakers and other in head phones but found it better mixing in head phones. Thats just me

Its all good mixing in headphones, but if the mixer doesn't have that feature, then your stuck.

the only "club" mixer that doesn't have split cue or multiple cued channels is the older Rane Rotary...still, I got stuck with that my firstgigs and it was a little nerve-racking, considering I'd spent a year and a half teachning myself to beat match solely in my headphones...

First either input the BPM manually or have the unit do it for you, select "Master" on your channel knob, now select the "Delay" effect and use the parameter knob to change settings to 1/2 or 1/1 or whatever your want, make sure your wet/dry knob is set all the way to Wet so you only hear the effected signal, now activate the effect, I can't give the real names for each setting as I haven't used the DJM in awhile so I ain't sure.

Och ok man.. i get u, but i dont have wet & dry thing on my DJM :p
is it the PARAMETER TIME??

Thanks m8! :D
