any of you guys check this out after the superbowl? what did u think?
i thought it was pretty funny. the bit with the dog was hilarious. i really can't wait for Family Guy and this to come back on May 1st. its been far too long since they've had any new episodes. |

| I didn't think it was funny at all. Kinda like the last few years of the Simpsons, I just sat and stared at the TV with not even a chuckle. |

lol, I actually liked the show. The level of comedy behind it is almost exactly the same as Family Guy. But that extraterrestial character in American Dad, is extremely funny in my view. haha, I remember one time, when the son killed the 19 year old dog the father brought home, the extraterrestial character said, "Hey don't expect me to do that ET finger thing and bring the dog back to life, cuz that's all crap." haha, that made me laugh.
the only reason why it's so funny is just because of the level of idiocy behind it. just "stupid funny" haha |

I thought it was ok. The worst episode of Family Guy is still 10x better than it though. It's pretty much the same formula though: big loud obnoxious dumbass dad (although not nearly as funny as Peter is), doting wife who contributes little-to-nothing, social outcast son, whiney bitch of a daughter, character that has an uncharacteristicly foreign accent and intelligence, animal (in this case, alien) that talks and has a substance abuse problem.
My main concern, and complaint, is that they are stupidly begining the full series run of American Dad the same exact week they are starting up the new Family Guy episodes.
This is really bad marketing. I have a feeling that two similar shows like this with similar comedy will give people a bit of an overdose, and cancell eachother's funniness and potential out, and make everyone sick of it. Or, Seth McFarlane will overstretch himself, and neither show will be as funny as they would have been separatley. |

How anyone can compare Family Guy to American Dad is beyond me. American Dad wasn't 'stupid funny,' it was just stupid. The only thing that was like Family Guy was when the dad said "Ohhh... I thought I had to fart." Other than that, it seems more like a corny sitcom than a funny cartoon.
Family Guy = Old Simpsons
American Dad = New Simpsons
Watch a new Simpsons episode after American Dad, and you'll have the same feeling of boredom and "Why am I watching this?" |

| I enjoyed american Dad a lot. and yes it is very similar to Family guy as a matter of fact almost identical... No reason really to dislike the show other for it not being family guy. Same jokes same humour same everything. The bit with Bush and god was hilarious... |
