| Does anybody in here snowboard? Because I am planning to buy a snowboard (used) and I dont know really much about them....... I do know how to snowboard pretty well. Im not a pro but I can skii pretty well. So I dont want a really crappy board either. Can anybody help me with some good brands of snowboards or stores I could buy used snowboards? And around how much would they cost (including the bindings)? Also I am about 5'10 to 5'11 how tall shold the board be? Thanks |

The size of the board depends on your height, weight and shoe size really.if you are normal weight for your height then you should be looking at 156-160 sizes with regular flex. If you are light for your size a 156 with good flex is what you should look for, if you are heavy for your size you'll need a stiffer board to cope with the weight. The width of your board depends on the size of your feet, if you have big feet you will need to buy a wide board (big is defined as sizes 8/9 and above (UK sizes)), you need to ensure your feet are near both edges or you won't be able to apply enough pressure to turn but not so far over the edges that your feet catch the snow.
I have a Gnu Carbon High Beam, excellent all round board. Other good brands are Ride and Burton. |

Snowboarding is my favorite thing to do in the entire world.
I'm unfamiliar with that brand, but the length is probably good to start on if you aren't that tall.
I personally like to get a board in my hands and feel it flex, on the board that length you probably want a fair amount of bend in it so that you can do some cool tricks. |
