Hi all,

I placed an order for the Access Virus TI. Which classic synth should I buy to complement this one? (I've got none so far)..

Thanks,

If you dont even have synths so far and you're waiting for the TI, the Ti will keep u busy for a long time.

If you will have a Virus TI soon, let me think about the
possibilities you have...

- JP80x0 is a classic for trancey supersaw leads, but the Virus TI has enough power to emulate the supersaw strings/pads/lead stuff. In my opinion, JP80x0 is overused to make supersaw stuff, while it's a great machine for much more sounds, specially plucked sounds for arpeggios. But really, if you have a TI, for while forget the JP80x0!

- Supernova II is an amazing synth for smooth (fat) pads, euro-trancey leads etc. The oscillator section has a lot of controls in order to make a fine-tunning in the waveform generated and emulate classic analog sounds. I found out this synth is underrated for psy-trance sounds (Astrix, Talamasca etc. stuff).

- There are Nord Lead 2/3; Waldorf Q/Micro-Q but do you know? Forget any other VA, because you will have a Virus C with wavetable sinthesis and total integration with your PC!
Virus Ti is ALMOST all you need... If I were you, I would try something real analog like MKS80 Super Jupiter (Jupiter 8 rack with MIDI - it's is really powerful and amazing) or to use a powerful ROMpler (Yamaha Motif, Roland XV5050) or CD's samples + Emagic EXS24 sampler (it has a powerful filter) in order to make other instruments like piano/acoustic/real string/cellos etc.

I suggest you stay with the TI for awhile as the jp8000 and the TI share too many similarities to even be considered to complement one another. If you cant get most the sounds you want or need out of a virus then your a pretty sad programmer. I normaly would say a wave table synth but since the new virus is going to have wavetables you prolly wont need another and in any case if you do i suggest a waldorf xt...
