How many TA's are teachers? What do you teach?
I teach English and I'm graduating in some sort of "become a Japanese language teacher" course.
Those of you who aren't teachers but are willing to post: Would you be a teacher? Do you hang out with (some of) your teachers? Would you date your teacher? Well, talk about teachers :) |

As a few of you know, Ive slept with a couple of my TA's. No, not Tranceaddicts; Teaching Assistants, or graduate students that the university can have teach low level courses which saves the professor from being bothered with college freshmen. One was after the course, and one was during the course, and Id do both again.
I would be a teacher, but probably only hang out with a handful of them. I dont mind teaching manual tasks, but hanging out with my students might be too much. It really depends on the relationship in and out of the classroom setting. Plus, after seeing each other for extended time periods in class, do you want to spend more time with them? Unless the power structure can be overcome, any time together can be tedious, at best. This is just my opinion. |

taking an English in Secondary School right now.
basically a teaching course.
don't really know how i ended up there, just trying to fulfill a requirement for my creative writing major, and that was one of the last classes available.
very informative.
one of the first things we learned.

I couldn't be a teacher as I don't have the patience. It also seems to me that it would be rather boring and wholly unrewarding repeatedly going over things you already know just to try to pound it into the heads of a bunch of ungrateful people.
I've never hung out with teachers. In grade school my teachers hated me because I was disruptive, obnoxious, and most of all diabolical. In college my professors hardly knew me because I rarely showed up to class.
I've never really liked teachers, they're usually either pompous windbags with no insight or spineless powertripping eggheads. Or at least that's been my experience. But I'll be the first to admit I never gave most of them a chance. |

im a lab instructor now for a psych stats course adn I will have 2 sections of psych 101 to teach on my own next fall. I've already gottena few girls that had crushes on me just from my stats lab, which is only 2 hours a week.
Plus thi schick ive been hangin out with and great friends with for the past 3 months was a student o mine too.
I've hung out with and got drunk with quite a few professors. There are cool ones, and of course there are the retarded ones, Im hoping to be the former. ;)

and I wouldn't sleep with a student of mine while they had my course. But once I hand in grades its open season. |

I tought 1st year micro and macro economics last year while I was doing my postgrad..
