ok...I wanna purchase equipment to start off...can you people please tell me whats the difference & benefits of a Dual CD player Vs 2 Single CD players (not connected).
inatrance
well.. dual cd players are mounted on racks, or somthing close to that, while 2 singles are usually on either side of the mixer... If your gonna mix cd's get two singles, but if you are going to spin vinyl get dual, cause the singles will get in the way of TT.. or at least thats my understanding
Izzy
ya what inatrance said is true.
plus dual decks are usually cheaper than buying 2 single CD's.
inatrance
ya and singles r usually more fun :)

Duals are usually for DJ's with turntables on the sides and the duals are mounted in front of the Dj in a sort of box.

In other words.. they save space

i'm pretty sure 'bout this, i think that duel CDs have special options that can be done only if you have two conected CDS...

i know that the numarks have an option to set the BPM by a TAP button (you tap the button 2-3 times acording to the other song and it sets the bpm automaticly...)

what other options are there?
inatrance
the numark also can auto mix for you, but wheres the fun in that :sadgreen: theres also the tascam 302 dual cd players that split apart and can either be two singles or a dual.. which is pretty sweet if yoru thinking about starting on cds and later going to vinyl.. you can get those right now for like 800-900 US.. ha anyways theres plenty of cool stuff on cd and dual cd players.. watch out vinyl;)

if you want duals, go with the denons, singles? then go with the pioneer front loaders :)

Dual CD players save you lots of space, but they're most of the times less comfortable to work on than single cd players...
Singles have larger jog wheels, larger buttons, larger interface and larger display.
If you're a mobile dj then a dual can be very good for you - you just put it in a 19" rack case along with a 19" mixer and an amp and you're ready to go.
inatrance
pioneer seems to be a rip off on front loading cd players.. but I defintitley agree that they are the best :)

For somebody like me, who makes thier own music, a single, hot quality cd unit, jacked into the mixer, really is the biz.

Obviuosly if you are wanting to mix soleley on cd, then go dual.:D
inatrance
whaaaaT??? if you want to mix soley on cd.. DEFINITLEY go single.. its actually djing.. not messing around with a little box of a mixer and a dual cdplayer... ehh whatever
