...and what are they doing?

The Prodigy: Liam Howlett,Keith Flint and Keith Palmer

quote:
Liam Howlett is not very happy. The band leader of the Prodigy is upset with Maverick Records for supposedly doing a lousy job of marketing the group's latest record "Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned." U.S. sales for the new CD, which was released on September 14, have been a huge disappointment.

The album sold only 16,000 copies in its first week (compared to 396,000 for Nelly's "Suit" that debuted in Billboard's top spot). Things are different in Europe where this fourth Prodigy album is ruling album charts.

i would LOVE to hear another hit from them having the same impact of 'Firestarter' or 'Smack my bitch up'... i think it's every EDM producer dreams of, selling millions of copies and getting world wide notariety for your group.

Another confirmed show for the Prodigy on May 1st for the 2005 Coachella Festival! Other acts include Coldplay, NIN, The Chemical Brothers, and Weezer.

Aphex Twin:Richard David James

quote:
In late 2004, rumours of his return to a more Acid Techno based sound are being realized with the new Analord series.

Aphex Twin interviews are generally entertaining, eccentric, and confusing. He has made many wild claims in his interviews which have been speculated by some to be false. Several of these claims include him owning an 1950s armoured scout car (a Daimler Ferret Mark 3), a submarine, composing ambient techno music at age 13 (contradicting most music history), building all of his synthesizers from scratch, having "over 100 hours" of unreleased music, and living in a converted bank. He is a talented photographer, having done his own artwork direction for many of his albums. Aphex Twin continues to create records at the boundaries of the accepted norms of music.

WOW, would i realy like to hear him start producing at the same level he used to. Aphex Twin will always be a reminder of how original and fresh electronic music can be.
mto
Prodigy released an album last year. Always outnumbered, never outgunned. But i dunno what they're doing now.
Sand Leaper
Richard is still making music. His latest releases are AFX - Analord 01/02, quite lovely acidic outings. I don't think he uses the name Aphex Twin anymore due to quarrels with Warp.

Terra Ferma:Claudio Guissani "Kuut"

:haha:

quote:
Kuut (pronounced "Kau-ku- 'ta") was born in Italy, but spent much of his childhood traveling & living in several countries throughout Europe. At a very early age, he discovered in himself a unique abilityto create music. Throughout the nineties, Kuut (then performing as a solo musician "Terra Ferma" & also as part of a successful group) became a well respected music producer and sound engineer. His success enabled him to tour worldwide for several years.
Throughout his travels, Kuut encountered people from many different cultures. As he observed various ways of life, he begun to understand a similarity amoung the many variations from country to country. He saw that people from all walks of life practiced some form of "energy work": in the way of cultures that work with aspects / energies of nature; cultures that honor entities and energies that they believed to provide them with strength, happiness, luck or prosperity; countries that worked with energies represented in infinite physical forms and names, which varied from region to region. In observing all this, Kuut himself was looking for more information about the energy world, and he saw that many others were too.
During one of his concert tours, he met Saint and they had a conversation which incorporated two important aspects of Kuut's life: music and energy. Saint said that he would begin to teach Kuut how to write music using an energy process and, in the meanwhile, he would also share with Kuut information that would help Kuut strengthen his own abilities.
So they formed a partnership as friends and music collaborators by starting their music group "EXUS": the future of music.
