I just picked up "The Dance Music Manual" by Rick Snoman. http://www.dancemusicproduction.com/ Excellant read. It goes over everythig from music theory, basic sound synthesis, tips andtricks for each genre of music. it even tells you how to start and promote your music. i would recommend this book to anyone starting out. it is definitally worth the 40 bills.
