idk about P. Diddy...I agree that he won't be doing it for the money and that he might have some potential in co-production. I do think, however, that the real reason he is interested in crossing over into EDM is because Bad Boy hasn't produced a decent track or signed any credible talent for quite some time. I mean, look, the label went downhill when Biggie died, just look at the releases and the record sales (besides P.Diddy's comeback record in 2001). He got desperate enough and tried to revive the label with all that "Making The Band" and nothing good (or profitable) came out of it. Maybe there is a niche for him in EDM, but yeah lets hope he doesn't bring his homeboys with him.
The one good thing that could come out of it is stopping all of those ignorant idiots I meet from calling everything electronic "TECHNO":whip: |

+1 having PDiddy's influence and productions in some house traxx is fine i guess but keep distance more as an occasional collaborator i dont want to start hearing remixed hiphop/edm songs all over the place or start seeing edm heads dressing urban...keep trance and prog pure please |

Did anyone read that article from a Uk dj magazine regarding P. diddy getting down and into the EDM scene. I believe it was an interview with p diddy and how he plans to support Erick morillo and start producing EDM music.
As up and coming local producer, I respect p. diddy as business man and as a producer. But then again I dont like the fact that hes trying to exploit another music genre to gain riches. Also I dont think he sees EDM as we TAs normally would but sees it as a product or another way to capitalize. EDM to me has always been a passion and my escape from the norm (lack or a better word). At this point Im neutral with P. Diddy being the game. For the following reasons:
Money (help local US producers get signed)
Many big lables will jump on the bandwagon or pay more attention
May help expand EDM
Hes hasnt produced anything yet so I cant make an accurate judgement
SO.....What do TAs think???
P. Diddy and EDM
GOOD :D or BAD :nervous: |
id have to disagree with u here..... P Diddy isnt getting into EDM only because of money??? cmon now. EDM is down in the hole compared to all the success Diddy has had with hip hop and r&b. hes obviously a "convert" of sorts and LIKES the music. we should be happy that some1 like Diddy is getting into EDM, and hopefully turning other people onto it as well. no1 dedicates himself to a particular genre of music, producing and performing it, JUST for "kicks and cash". like i said b4, theres plenty of other stuff he could get into for an eaasy buck, and EDM is probably the least rewarding investment he could make.... he obviously likes this music... if he didnt, he wouldnt be going to Ibiza with Erick Morillo every year and dancing his ass off (which is what hes been doing the past couple years). |

Yeah, now its either gonna be techno or house. I don't mean to on your comment but i highly doubt that these homies are gonna know the difference between any sort of edm, they're used to rap, or hip hop |
