I dunno what you heard, this so called 'Angels' tune or whatever, but it might be a fake man, and prolly is! You know how many people have done their own 'remixes' of binary finary and thrown it out there under another name? That's prolly what happened. So everybody jus relax, go seek some lovin, listen to some trance, smoke a bowl, whatever!

| I've never heard any new Johan Gielen productions but the Airscape Remixes from the last year have been really ad. Same tired sound in all of them. People always diss Pulsedriver here, well I'd say the quality of a lot of Airscape Remixes this year are a lot worse than Pulsedriver's. |

talking about the airscape remixes, i just got la luna--venus (airscape remix) and man it sounds like alice deejay--no more lies. judge for yourself. atb might be making music, but he's awesome as a dj. same MIGHT apply to gielen.
going into the whole cheese and blank & jones' beyond time thing--
a-teens--upside down (JS16 remix) sounds practically like beyond time (darude remix), so who ripped whom? |

I've never heard Johan Gielen spin and probably never will so I can't judge him as a DJ...regarding his remixes... I've always liked Airscape stuff, even with the tried and true sound. I will admit though, his remixes from the last year have been hit and miss. The Airscape remix of Ultra - Free is great. I liked his remix of Safri Duo's Played-A-Live also. On the other hand, the pop music remixes he's been churning out lately have been getting to me. Have you all heard Wendy Phillips - Stay (Airscape Mix)?? Talk about cheesy!!
I must state again that I think Johan Gielen - Angels is a fake. I've never heard anything about it, never saw it on a playlist - it just showed up on the internet suddenly. I also can't get over the fact that the ATB remix is a mislabeled Sequential One song!! It's fake, i'm tellin ya!!
Beyond Time and Rank 1's Airwave?? That's pushing it. The Mystery was a clear Airwave knock-off, but Beyond Time?? it borrows the melody portion from Born Slippy as someone said before. Even my friends who don't like trance picked up on that one quick. |

Allow me to "butt" in real quick to add something....
To answer everyone's questions about hearing him spin, i have a LOT of his livesets, and he is a great DJ (track selection and skillz). For starters, he doesn't spin ANYTHING he produces, he spins all hard & uplifting stuff (minus any and all airscape choons)... its like he doesn't even promote his own ! (see: mix between Tiesto & Picotto). Secondly, he does a LOT of scratching, x-fading in the middle of songs, and backspins, as well as touch and go's.... so basically, he doesn't just slide the x-fader between songs, like most DJ's.... he is up there USING those Ortofons! Real exciting to listen to, i can't wait till the day i get to hear him in person....
BTW - if you are not familiar with his livesets, and only download one, make sure you get Live @ Trance Energy with Safri Duo 2/17/01... that has the best tracklist IMO....also does a LOT of good scratching in there.... and of course its all improvised, i'm sure! (and enough with saying "operation blade is cheese".... to us americans that have NEVER heard that song, its feckin tops!)

Look, that tune is the worst rip off track I've ever heard. The vocal is a rip off of a Public Enemy track and the main hook is rip off New Order "Confusion". Sorry but that's just pretty low in my books. I'd write off any set with that in it straght away! |

Dude, to some of us, how the song sounds is more important than where it came from. Point of the matter is, yeah the vocals aren't the best, but they're great at working up the crowd. And the New Order Confusion track sux b/c its just the same thing over and over, and the build up of "operation blade" IMO is much better. Consider it a remix...... and chillax bro!
