congrats i guess....but....
shouldnt u FIRST pick a major, and then apply, and the elimination process of the fittest should begin? why would they allow u to enter a school without any idea of what ure gonna study? makes no sense..... |

That is somewhat crazy.
I have a cousin who (at least used to) lives in Georgetown. Ive been down to visit him a few times, though not for quite awhile. Met a girl down there my freshmen year of high school who was rather incredible, but havent been to the area in years, since I went for a uni visit at UT-Au in 2000.
anyways, enough pointless rambling....congratulations on your acceptance. |

Southwestern is a private liberal arts school...how most liberal arts schools are set up is like this: you pick core classes from a list based on what interests you (for a science credit you could take anything from marine biology to astronomy to physics) to form an idea of what you want to study. you CAN declare your major when you first apply or when you are a freshman, but most people wait until mid sophmore year. you don't HAVE to declare your major until the beginning of your junior year. that's part of the reason i applied to Southwestern, because i don't know what i wanna do yet.

| i wish i was excited about getting into college...i only applied to one school because i was garaunteed acceptance so i was like eh...whatever...:( hopefully i'll be a little more excited about grad schools hehehe :p |
