Can someone give me the name of a computer based Mp3 mixer that i can find on the internet for free.
DaveC
www.pcdj.com

Download the Program Called ' Digital 1200'

Of course they dont look or work like a set of real 12oo's but once used to the program you can knock out some good mixes.

You have to manually enter the BPM, which is easliy done but not very accurate. The program automatically matches the two bpms of each tune.
The program even has a cue point system, where if there is a gap at the start of tune IE. No beat, it will automatically forward to the first beat of the song ready for you to press play on a cue point.
What is essential is that you have a 'monitor' output on your Pc and also a 'master' going to your speakers.

I advise getting 2 turntables and a Mixer ....they will always do a better job.

SportTrance
AtomixMP3 allows you to record, in wav format, and allows you to make albums... I have a "registered" version
DaveC
Yes there is a program, and it doesnt need you to register or to donate your hard earnt cash to them either.

Its called 'Audio Grabber ' I have version 1.80.

IT is downloadable from : www.tucows.com

It records in Wav OR Mp3... however it has a bitrate limitation when recording in Mp3 to 52kb/s...which is pretty much useless...

So have have a separate program to do the encoding of my mixes. Which i also downloaded from Tucows. This program is simply called

' Wav to Mp3 encoder ' which is also a freeware program. With no limitations of bitrate selection.

Hope I have helped You

:D

Traktor is your answer, it is proably one the best mp3 mixing programs out there with all kinds of features like auto mixing and bpm counting, excellent program. i have been making professional like mixes using it. just hit the little record button and start mixing. it saves the file into a .wav file which is nice for making your cds. it hass kill switches for your mids, low, and highs, plus has a low cut, width, and res controller. it takes a little to get use to but is well worth, plus it works with xp which is another plus.i highly recommend it.peace.

You can record while you are mixing with Goldwave.

I use MixMeister 3 which is a pretty cool program. It's rather hard to alter the BPM's fluidly, but it does work, and it's fast! It records to .wav, and then I use the MMJB to turn that into mp3 (up to 320kbps!).

It does annoy me that this thread comes up every other week, and that a lot of progs are mentioned. This guy is right, Traktor is currently the best prog for live mp3 mixing and is as close to proper mixing as you'll get. For a full version i suggest either buying (lol) or downloading Morpheus and looking it up on there its only 7mb. The only other prog worth considering is Mixmeister or whatever its called as this can be useful for creating cd's n but its not real mixing.
So there we go, my (experienced) two cents worth

Peace :D
