wow i cant believe i missed this thread up to this point. i had never really posted about glowsticks and photons on here cause the impression i always got was that everyone was against them. i was going to go to spirit tonight but i am sick and cant unfortunately.

i am definitely going to ferry and pvd in april though and would love to meet up with you guys that are into raving and such. if i dont see a thread like this one when those shows get closer i'll be sure to start one myself so i can meet some of you guys. have fun tonight everyone :)

lol...i love how people refer to people that USED to glowstick a few years ago by calling them "old-school".....

Old School = Breaks, Popping, Locking, Waving, Tutting, Gliding, Miming, Ticking, Strobing, Hitting, House Stepping etc.

New School = Liquid, Digits and Glowsticking etc.

Glowsticking is cool...but i always thought of it as the kids did when they couldnt grasp the concepts of breaks and/or liquid...so they said it and flung around glowsticks...which is a hell of a lot easier to do. So to me glowsticking (or whatever u call it) is for the lazy kids who never put much time into their dance and instead of using their body decided upon props....

I find more talent in someone who can Liquid then bust out some waves then pop a little then bust a fatty glide...to manipulate your body takes skill....swinging sticks is not very impressive.

Dont hate me...just my opinion since I AM a "old-schooler" concentrating more on waves, hits, strobing, glides and popping from 1988-1998....till i found liquid at The Tunnel in the summer of 1998...then i was hooked on liquid for a few years. But i feel Liquid borrows a lot from waving...anyway dont mind me...i jus laughed when i saw "oldschool and glowsticking".

when you say "flung around glowsticks" are you referring to people who rave, or use sticks on strings, or both?

i agree with you that the moves you are talking about are really hard. i never did quite get the liquid thing. but i did find that the more i practiced raving with sticks and photons the better my dancing became when i didnt use them too.
