I'm looking for good monitor speakers suggestions

| Right I've decided my Hi-Fi speakers are a ball of and it's time to buy some decent monitor speakers and an amp. I don't know a budget yet. Maybe €500 (about US$650). Any recommendations? Also I'll be connecting my decks and mixer into it. Do I connect my mixer and my computer soundcard staight in or what's the story. Any help would be much appreciated. |

I put 'speakers' into the search. Not a lot of useful info there. Try it yourself, trust me nothing much there. Anyway I'm looking for more specific info than "this is a good setup" etc type of comments. Particularly since these guys are seem to be talking about DJing not production. |

Use "monitors" as your keyword
then in search options:
Select production studio
Search titles only
Select posts from yesterday
Select "and older"
Done.
Anyway, I have a pair of Behringer Truth B2031a's. Love them:) |

Cheers, I'll try that. I just finished a short (8 classes) music production course and the guy who taught me has those speakers. They sound wicked and he recommended them. Must check them out. |

| Any kind of monitors that are known to be the best for high frequency monitoring? I'm looking for something that does best for tight sounding punchy bass and gives very clear resonance of detailed frequencies versus somethin that represents low freeks giving off muffled high freeks. And what are the reasons cons and pros for using passive speakers over powered speakers and vice versa??:disbelief |

| Ok, I just found the answer for my question in the forums, so nevermind. I just recently got these AKG K240M headphone monitors for $100? Sound good? Well, they sound alright, but how in the hell was I supposed to know that headphones need AMPS, WTF? For as much as I'm spending for amp for headphones, I could've gotten a good pair of speakers. I dunno, well, now that I got this, I need to find some good headphone amps. Any suggestions? If I only have 1 headphone, why would I need a hp-amp with 4 or more outputs?? |
