Okay I don't get it. The other day I was passing by some stations on the subway and I saw that they have the new VERY nice colour screens installed instead of those red lightbulb displays they had before.

So, TTC is complaining they have no money, and at the same time installing cool new colour screens? Don't get me wrong, I think they are AWESOME...i'm definitely loving these, but isn't it kind of useless spending when you are underbudget??!?!

Its a pilot project being run in Yonge/Bloor and St. George Subway stations being funded by an external ad agency. This is the same agency that is going to putting smaller versions of those colour screens in subway cars. Their intent is to have ads with no sound along with news, weather, and some TTC information. If its sucessful, there is the possibilty of having a GPS system installed on the entire system with information about the arrival of next trains and buses.

Moscow has the most beutiful "metro" in the world...nobody even comes close. Every station is a work of art. But it's almost like a museum :)
