I REALLY hate to post a n00b like thread.. but here goes.
I can NOT make up my mind between the following two items.
CDJ1000mk2 or Denon X1500 mixer.
Each item has its own pro's and con's to them right now.
Currently my setup is 2 Techs, and the Numark DXM06. Now my plan was to purchase one of the two items tomorrow, and I am hoping to stick to that plan, but I still have not come to a solid conclusion about which to get. In the (mid summer) I will have both. I just don't know which one I can longer without.
IF you were in this situation (with my current setup), which would you choose, and why?
Cheers.
PS: sorry for the n00b style post.. :stongue: |

id go with the mixer, a lot more that you can learn to do with it than a 1000. i pretty much leanred most of the trixes of an mk2 in an hour at the tom lee downtown, the fx box and cool features of the mixer will prob take longer to nail down.

Hey M8!
Email me at [email protected] and I'll hook you up with a great price on either of the items you pick, though I can do a much better price on CDJ1000mk2 right now, I can explain why when I reply to your email, :D :D :D also if you happen to have AIM or Y! or MSN messenger, please include your screen name in your email and I'll contact you back asap.
Please put "From Fellow TA" on the subject line so that I know I'm not receiving a spam email.
thanks

Dually noted. I am learning the mixer quite quickly as I am around DannyO's place a fair bit and this is the mixer he has. Reason I am looking at the CDJ is for creating Loops, dropping samples, and the hot cues (why I backed out of the 800). |

I've got the DXM-06 too and if I had to choose between the 1500 and the CDJ, I'd go CDJ all the way.
In fact, I'm making a few purchases this weekend as well and one will be a CDJ-800.....unless I can convince myself that I need the 1000 for the 3 or 4 cd's that I do play. |

Its not the number of CDs i'll be playing it what I can do with the features of both items.... the x1500 is crazier than alot of people think once you REALLY start f*cking around with it... and the looping, hot cues, SD card features of the 1000 are what have me considering it...
Either way I will have a quality toy... I just have to decide what I will use more (in the features part, as mixer will be 100% of the time) |

if i was going to get a cdj for bedroom use i wouldn't even consider a 1000, id be getting a denon s5000 for sure, has a built in sampler, but i guess if you want it so you can practice on it cause most clubs have thm then that makes sense too.

Man, I don't think there is even a comparison between the CDJ1000's, or any Pioneer CDJ for that matter, and the S5000. Don't get me wrong, the S5000 is nice, but man a lot of the stated features are still in the "Way to gimmicky" phase.
I recently thought about upgrading, after trying out an S5000 for a few hours, I'd NEVER make the change, but that's just my opinion.
Good luck with the new Mixer M8. Cheers,
