Just curious to see who here has used the TECHNICS SL-DZ1200 CD/MP3 PLAYER, and the ALESIS AIR FX UNIT and what your opinions are on those to pieces of gear. I'm looking to expand my set up with a cd player and fx unit and i've kinda come down to those two.

Well the sldz is actually a fairly good player, despite what a bunch of people will tell you. It just is not worth the price, unless you were to get an insane deal on it.
Denon and Pioneer are better alternatives.
The Air FX is ehhhhh...
Fairly good cheap fx unit, but I mean the whole concept is a bit touchy. Its hard to control at first, and things like smoke machines can set it off no problem.
I would try to spend the money on a Korg Kaoss Pad 2 (II) or an EFX500.
If you really only have like a hundred bucks to spend on an effects unit, I hate to say it but the Behringer DFX69 tweakalizer looks sort of promising for the price... I'm hoping it will follow the quality of their studio products rather than their dj products. |
