Any thoughts on this mixer? It's a budget item with kill switches, eq's, the basics which I'm looking for right now (2 channels). Has anybody used this mixer? If so, would you recommend it? |

It's a decent mixer for starting out for its price. I had one and used it for over a year until recently upgrading. It's far from smooth but it gets the job done. The crossfader is pretty bad though, if you attempt any kind of scratching at all for a short period of time it starts leaking and cracking. For mixing it's fine, as long as you use the channel faders. The cue fader on mine also had a small leak when you put it all the way to one side, you could hear a little of the other side, but it wasn't loud enough to complain about. If you're looking for something to start out with for mixing, it's fine and I'd recommend it. |

I'm not really starting out, I'm just seeking something simple and cheap with EQs and kills. I never use the fader when mixing or scratching techno anyways so I don't think the fader crappiness will be a problem. |

I had the Stanton smx-201 for about 9 months until I picked up the Numark dm1002mkii at Guitar Center for $90. From the very second I turned this guy on mixing has been a lot easier for me.
The kills are good, the eq is good, the only dumb thing about this mixer is the transform button. It's kind of un-needed and sometimes you will hit it on mistake causing silence in your mix. |
