Orange Vocoder - live midi input?

Anyone got this monster working?

All I want is to be able to run either live or recorded audio through Orange Vocoder and be able to use my MIDI Keyboard rather than the GUI keyboard at the bottom of the plugin property page.

It says that you can do it. I just don't know how. I've tried using the plugin as an FX on an audio track... I've also been told that I have to set up the Orange Vocoder as an INSTRUMENT and THEN run the audio through it.

Problem is, it doesnt show up as an instrument in my options!

Does anyone have this working in their sequencer this way? Does it work in Cubase or something? HOW?:conf:
Reconceal
Nope :(

I'd be very interested too to know
Reconceal
Got it!

Version 2 of the plugin can be set in midi chanels "midi out" to control the inbuilt synth ;)
I wonder what Version 3 will do tho....

Also:
Waves vocoder plugin in Transform boundle can be easily used if you
want both carrier and modulator from outside sources.
Very usefull :toothless

hehe..YAY! I figured it out! my problem was this:

OrangeVodocer demo installed without the DXi (which is Direct X instrument)...so in order to play your own keyboard instead of the GUI keys, you need to set it up in your sequencer as an instrument..NOT AS AN FX.

SO, went into my VST wrapper, and there is a box to check called "enable DX instrument"....I checked it and it works!!

Now I can throw in a new instrument patch of OrangeVocoder, throw an audio track on the track and it'll play the audio track using my midi keyboard controller.:D

"Analog-X" Vocoder all the way, guys ;)

by the way ever since I bought a creative Audigy I havent been able to just plug in my mike and get it working. Do I have to plug it in to the external box. If so, how the fook am I gonna find an adapter?

I got ORANGE Vocoder on Ebay new in box unregistered for $89 USD so I'm just waitin for it to arrive. The demo times out after 5 minutes but I'm glad I figured it out!! Cant wait!
I tried em all. Akai DCVocoder, Steinberg VoiceMachine, NI Vokator, all the freebies (which suck)... ORANGE seems by far the easiest and best sounding one of the bunch.
