so, for our crazy story of the weekend

two of our american friends (TDL-terry and starshine - jenn) left the guv on sat nite at 5, catching a cab back to dnmr-danielles. As terry and jenn watched the cab drive away they realized that they had left his wallet in the backseat. Now they didn't know what kind of cab it was or anything, so the chances of finding it again would be slim to none..yet they went inside, and called every cab company number they could find to no avail.

Tired and sketchy they went back to their hotel for a nap b4 the postparty.

three hours later...

enter our own 2 favourite TOTAs, cuzo and dnmr. After unsucessfully hittin up CZ after the guv closed, they decided to just trek it back to d's house to join the rest of the crew. Cuzo went to grab a cab. At the road, 3 cabs sat b4 him. with certainity cuzo picked the middle one and they hopped in. D first noticed the wallet. not saying anything she flipped it open to check for cash (of course!!!!)
but there wasn't a dime. she she spoke up..hey theres a wallet here..with ID..from north carolina..of Terry!!

the probability of this is nil..out of all the cabs in all of Toronto terry lost his wallet and 3 hrs later 2 of his best friends find it still in a cab on the other side of town???

yes, we are going to play the lottery

well 2 nights ago i took a cab ride home and the cabie was a mid 40s lebanese guy and we get talkin bout the progress in teh middle east (mostly bout UAE) and then wehn he drops drunk lil LKD off, he goes "see u again sometime man"

LKD freaks out and starts using his scientific calculator using estimates and found the probability ratio to be 1:1000 since its a local cab:nervous:

I had a situation where I had left my wallet in a cab, and didn't even realize it!

10 minutes after cabbing it back home, my doorbell rang. At the door was the cab driver with my wallet in his hand! I had a little over $100 in my wallet, and to my pleasant surprise it was all there. I tried to offer the cab driver $20 to cover the cost of driving back to my house, and potential lost business during that time... However, the good Samaritan politely refused to take my money. I shook his hand, thanked him, and wished him all the best.

A similar wallet loosing situation happened to a friend of mine some time ago. I think this was the first Ascension boat cruise, and my friend's wallet had gone missing later in the night. The wallet contained a large sum of cash probably around $150, so he totally expected the money to be a write off. When we got back to port, my friend had asked whoever was behind the DJ booth if anyone turned in a lost wallet, and sure enough someone did! The wallet was returned to my friend WITH cash and all. As we left the boat my friend let out a big "God bless those ravers!", and I think various references to PLUR were mentioned as well. I doubt something like this would ever repeat it's self in the club scene these days.

I can get jaded and cynical at times, but things like this restore my faith in humankind.

yeah. it should be a scene in human traffic 2.

sketchy things happening to sketchy people.

i wish this same thing would have happened to me when gamma left our kick ass cell phone in a cab. but what do you know, no sign of any kick ass cell phone anywhere.

I've lost about 3 phones in cabs and nothing.

Good things happen in threes. Maybe this is all the start of something good for Cuzo and friends? I got to see Frank on Sunday night after this went down. Maybe the hug rubbed a little luck off on me?

LOL! :D
