A man is not measured by the way he leaves this world, but rather by the way he lived it. (forget who I am quoting but its a famous saying)

loss for everyone (who supports that lifestyle and immortalizes him at least :P)

No man is so foolish but he may sometimes give another good counsel, and no man so wise that he may not easily err if he takes no other counsel than his own. He that is taught only by himself has a fool for a master.

RIP you crazy bastard; this world is too much for any of us.

Apparently, you just had to blow your head away like my dear old friend Hemingway did. Now that you're with him please have a drink with old Papa for me. I'll see you guys when it's time...;)

Wow. I just posted this as I didn't even see this thread.

This is so shocking. I really admired HST's writing style and the way that he literally stormed through life with his typewriter.

I just can't believe that he'd do it. It's really upsetting.

He even listened to Oakenfold.

But he's not one in a million but one in a millenium.

There will probably never be another person with the same maniacal, creative, and literary brilliance as HST.

It really is tragic that it happened the way it did, though. He finally succumbed to the wrath of his inner demons. It brings a tear to my eye.

All you Fear and Loathing people really owe it to yourself to see Where the Buffalo Roam which is a more accurate and better depiction that Fear and Loathing gave (albeit by a worse actor).
