| it's a decent melody, but nothing really massive or groundbreaking in my opinion... |

i thought the first one was better. definitely keep the first one. the big problem with it is that that patch on v station isnt very good. i loved the melancholic quality of it. if you listen to stuff by uplift, stargazer, spinback & storm (all freeform/hardcore) theres alot of these arpeggiated, melancholic riffs that are sped up to 165 bpm + with more detune and unison on them to make them harder and more driving. but the concept you had on the first one was great and could work well in the sense that VNV nation songs work well in many ways (aside from their production which is rubbish). check out beloved or standing or rubicon to get what i mean.
the most iconic riffs are really simple. they stick in your mind because of it. i guess thats why nirvana were so...'iconic.' simple songs. simple riffs. but you never forget them. when you bog things down in complexity it can sometimes become very forgettable although in some ways you can lose yourself in it. i much prefer the first one - would sound pretty nice on some of the trance patches i got for me virus b :D  |

I think the arps are nice. But these things are more for background and extra. Try to think of a melody that's on top of these arps. Only this kind of arps is soemthing done already.
Try to combine something you like now with that arp background. Such a background is something I also like to hear if it's done properly like in your examples.
The only thing is you get stuck in the 16th sequence and have to avoid the repetitive or copying someone else his riffs. |

Ya i was thinking about that. Plus rehearing again, I think the second sample is a bit repetitive...stays in the same note areas a lot with just notes in different places...i might try an arp cuz i haven't done those in a while :-P thanks |

| I like the melody. Should make a whole track out of it. By the way, does anyone have an insight on how to get tracks produced or signed to a label? |

Man, i've been using fruity loops for too long I seem to have these stupid little habits when it comes to placing notes on the piano roll. :sadgreen: |
