GEORGE ACOSTA
(uwm, miami)
Trance, whether you like your trance melodic and uplifting, or hard and fast, trance by any definition is here to stay. From the warehouse parties of the late 80’s to car commercials in 2001, trance has become part of the new millennium, part of our lifestyle. And all because of DJs like George Acosta. George proves every time he puts a needle on a record that "trance”, whatever the label, has changed, evolved, become a lifestyle, a culture… as well it should. With over 15 years of experience as a DJ and producer, George has helped change and evolve trance from an underground movement to massive festival experiences throughout the world. “George Acosta is probably America’s most unique DJ and has undoubtedly been a major force in shaping the sound of trance in Miami and beyond” says fellow DJ Dave Ralph. George Acosta is America’s representative in the global Trance scene.

I don't hear anyone talk about Acosta anymore.... Has anyone seen him in the past "x" years? I know he used to spin really old stuff in his sets and that irritated people....:clown:

| I really don't get it, STILL. I guess if you don't like trance, or EDM for that matter. I'm down in WPB, but if you knew me, you'd believe me. I say "yea". Sounds like a cool party, I'm sure there will be other people enjoying themselves, so there will probably be a good "vibe" too. It really depends on who else is spinning that weekend, and if you have to work. Other than that, being a TA, you should represent and go enjoy yourself. DrD:cool:   |

I recently saw Acosta here in D.C. and he ripped it. His set was mostly hard trance, but the highlight of the night was when he dropped the DJ Danjo & Rob Styles remix of Adagio For Strings.
If you're in the area, he's worth checking out. |

| Well, as long as he leaves his notoriously pompass, aerogant attitude at home and comes here to spin some seriously, quality music, then he's welcome in Atlanta. If he's gonna come up here and act like he's king of the world, then he can stay home because we have plenty of local DJs that can rip it up for much less money, and much less attitude..:whip: |

| Acosta may not be popular here in Miami anymore for many different reasons, but he can still bring it! |

Well, word on the street is you can bring it too! I say, we trade Acosta for you...the majority of Eleven50 goers won't know the difference, the TAs would love it, and Liquified would save money, and so would all of us.... see, everyone makes out like a bandit...:thepirate |

| Arrogant attitude? Explain. Did he tell you to fock off? Stick his tongue out at you? Or maybe he didn't wave or point to you like you were one of his friends... Honestly, he's got much better stage prescence than Paul does, and he smiles more too! Now I'm really confused... I know, he didn't feel like shaking your hand after a party once, or he wouldn't take a picture with you. Apparently, someone not wanting to take a picture with a stranger makes them a bad person, and definitely a poor DJ. I get it now.:toocool: |
