Hey guys!
www.askaboutcanada.info/information.html
I have been listening to trance for some time. However, it was causing negative effects on me - feeling depressed, down, etc. I did some research on trance music and found bunch of interesting stuff. Trance and trance music are being research by the Trance Institute.
It's site is www.trance.edu
What do you guys think about all this? Would you agree/disagree with the quotes presented on the sites? What are your thought/opinions about trance music and its possible connection with hypnosis, subliminal messages, ect?

if they contain binaural beats and you have ADHD and listen to it through headphones your deficiency in low frequency brain waves will go away.

I think you're nuts and should listen to the voices in your head telling you to kill yourself. |

| Interesting stuff. He speaks though in very technical language, hard to understand. Also, his theory almost doesn't apply to modern trance, since it is too popish nowadays and does not place emphasis on "entrancing" somebody. |

| i think an individuals personality/chemical makeup has something to do with how things like that would effect them. Either that or it's all a theory |

That page has hardly anything to do with trance music...
| quote: | | 'Pure' trance inducing music is simple to produce. All that is needed is at least three or four (or more) individually engaging rhythms. Some kinds of reggae music does this, so do the canons of J.S.Bach. In much so-called generic trance music only two rhythms are used, and only occasionally three. The 'engaging' aspect of trance inducing rhythms is important. What may be 'engaging' to one person may be repulsive to someone else. Repeating rhythms can be perceived as 'boring' but it is precisely this 'boring' aspect which is the precursor to trance. If a rhythm is 'engaging' and not boring, then trance is certain to occur. How to make a rhythm engaging is implied by trance theory. |
