till the USB ultra focus and xtreme FX demos on my PC cease to function. ! im currently using these in a tune at the moment and my god are these instruments absolutely beautiful. i use them more than my virus. does anyone know if you can reuse the demos after the time limit expires? either just by uninstalling and reinstalling or do you need to dive into the registry? :O

or does this mean i have to buy these sodding masterpeices of sound design?!
Cosmic Realm
well..., try this, when you want to use it disconnect from the internet if your on cable or DSL. then set you clock in the task bar back by about a month or so... that should work, let me know if it dosnt.

buy them mate
well worth the cash
i spend alot of £££ on the x-treme fx VSTi

amazing sounds from this thing!

yea its incredible. i thought it was just gonna be a bunch of cheapy analogue effects. but its soooo much more. its an atmospheric/pad monster synth. and the CPU load is low. shame im skint >______<

although im seriously contemplating selling my virus b for either xtreme FX or ultra focus. both are just...breathtaking.

where can i hear demos from those instruments ?

:D
Derivative
mate. you can try them out. unlike spectrasonics - USB actually made demos that you could use for 14 days i think limited to about 24 patches or so.

they have audio demos too. go check em out here:

http://www.ultimatesoundbank.com/usb/exec/vi

both demos for ultra focus and xtreme fx are pretty big - about 130mb each. but by god do they sound beautiful.

put it this way. the pad patches on both of those synths will blow your mind although most are in unconventional tunings and are often chords. both were good enough sounding that i considered selling my virus b desktop to get them.

but then i just made an acid patch on the virus a couple of hours ago and it made me realise what a sick synth it is. so now im in a bit of a pickle! some of the guys over at KVR claimed ultra focus was the best softsynth of 2004. i can sort of see their point. its definitely in the same league as atmosphere. xtreme fx is too. i actually prefer extreme fx to ultra focus although its more specialised.

i like make my own effects out of simple samples (most of em come out decent enough), but I think I'll try this out.:D

It's not really a synth, more of a rompler :p
