Seriously I get in pissed watching that clip, and I ain't even Canadian.
When I went with my family down to Florida one time, (before moving to Canada) we met a Canadian couple who lived there, and they said they got asked MANY times by various people about what its like to live in Igloos, and they weren't joking, seriously WTF.
I blame the education system, but then again its so hard to miss Canada on the map, all tucked away down there. |

Well you're not too busy to keep up with TOTA, and it was already posted here twice. :)
I've never contested the fact that Americans are ignorant about Canada. The question I always ask is why shouldn't they be? Unless we've been there, most of us would believe pretty much anything we hear about, say, the Dominican, or Mexico, or even some of the less touristy European destinations like Poland.
The only reason we're not as ignorant about Americans as they are about us is that we (and most of the world) are completely hung up on the thoughts and affairs of Americans and their government, so we hear things on the news or on TV - and just like Americans, a lot of the things we hear about our neighbour are half-truths or just plain wrong, but many choose to believe them anyway. |
