Question regarding repeating played tracks

| Why do djs spin the same music and multiple times when there are THOUSANDS of different tracks out there? Like if you go to see a DJ spin somewhere and lets say, followed him around the globe to other clubs you will probably hear a lot of the same songs being spun that he did at the previous club. Especially with all the records these guys must own you would think they could spin something different every time if they wanted. |

| Yeah, but how often do people actually follow a DJ around the globe (webstreaming doesn't count)? Not very. Chances are, if a DJ likes a particular tune or tunes, he'll want to share them with as many people as possible. Why play different songs for the sake of it when they have tried and tested floorfillers? |

| Yeah. I was just wondering... was just a question that popped in my head as I was listenin to ETN. Cuz throughout the day, every day I always hear a bunch of songs that I have never heard before and enjoy. |

They play the same records while touring different clubs for the reason previously mentioned, but I also think that a DJ has some obligation to expose those new tracks to as many people as possible. Big DJs get a lot of those tracks for free because they are expected to promote those tracks if they like them.
Also another reason is that many DJs own their own label or are affiliated with a certain label so they tend to play many tracks from those labels. Some people say they are selfish and greedy for heavily playing tracks from their label, but it is a business and all they are doing is promoting themselves and their artists. |
