| Imo GU has slipped a tiny bit but Renaissance has been keeping me happy :) |

Melbourne and beyond put me to sleep compared to Moscow and before.
Darren Emerson should do another to give the series a kick in the arse, or one of the other tech-house guys. Enough with this progressive and breaks business already. |

| Honestly, I think GU 002 was the best double CD in the series until Nick Warren's GU24 came out. GU24 is classic, but GU 002 is still holding up after all these years :) |

I love the GU series, but you couldn't have said it better. I don't get why the label has a fascination with these two genres and shut down fantastic DJs that would give the series a more exclusive status. |

I was a GU faithful through about Deep Dish, Moscow. After Seaman's Melbourne (2002) it really went south in my opinion, boring and ploddy like the rest of the progressive movement. Tragic. But It will return to better times. Maybe it's already on the way. Not sure. |
I agree with you 100%,
The series has lost what it once had, after a string of very average releases its just lost all of the hype tha GU cds used to have. But if Howells mix is good it could bring a new life to the otherwise dead series (i hope so anyway)...... |

Probably because Progressive has become so insular and self-directed these days. Rather than being a "dance music" series, GU has turned into a strictly Progressive series. |

Don't pay much attention to them but I loved "Global Underground Vol. 03 - Nick Warren Live In Prague", "Global Underground Vol. 13 - Sasha Live In Ibiza", "Global Underground Vol. 21 - Deep Dish Live In Moscow" and "Sasha - Involver".
(Yep, the only ones I've heard :toothless ) |
Not to be anal, but I can't help it: none of those comp's were "Live" |
