well, ASOT aint a very good way to keep oneself updated, because u wont have much diversity that way.

different strokes for different folks. i get my new track updates from ta.com and weekly radio shows, and ASOT is an excellent source to hear new tracks, granted it not diverse but it keeps a lot in the loop.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Also, I would say try and download/listen to as many livesets as you can and find tracklistings for those sets so you can remember songs you've heard.

Saying ASOT is great for keeping up with trance is like saying the Communist Party newsletter is great for keeping up with politics. Propaganda designed to control the tastes of the audience, in the case of ASOT to market a specific style.

BUT I have not heard ASOT since it was booted off ID&T, so I'm not sure how true that is anymore.

the key to keeping up to date, is .... shhhh here comes the secret

1- no social life
2- no sex life
3- spend all day on the intarweb looking for so you can come on TA later on and be all cool and stuff with the new tracks you have found....... this increases the size of your virtual intarweb penor.....

the web sites of your favourite labels are a good place to see new releases.

Thanks everyone. I dont pay attention to lables very much, I either like the song or not. I'll try to find good lables that churn out music that is my taste and keep track of new releases.

Don't forget online record shops, they usually have a list of labels. This way you can find more records from different labels and discogs is good for labels and stuff.

having an automated d/l system that will d/l for you if not current

there are tons of top charts out there but if you are looking for "new music" then you need to find prerelease and that usually means having access to demos or subpro sources.

How exactly do you do all this? (This is not a sarcastic comment...I'm serious)
