hi guys, sorry to post this here but i have nowhere else to turn and its doing my head in. i have a asus a7n266-vm motherboard with on-board sound. when i play a file it appears to be playing correctly yet there is no sound coming from my speakers (yes they are turned on and mute isnt on either) has anyone had a similar problem? or know what could be causing it?
thanks

1)Is your computer on
if no, make sure it is plugged in
2)Are your speakers plugged into the computer?

try going into Control Panel>sound and making sure that all the levels are on and none of THEM are muted. just because main isnt on mute doesnt mean that if wav , midi , and line in are muted youll get sound :) its under first advanced tab in that board. also go into advaced and make sure treble and bass arent turned off

is it enable in the bios and make sure there is not ? by it on the control panel/device manager. if it is then install the latest drivers from nvidia or the mobo manufacture

updated all the drivers and no they wasnt turned off in control panel or bios lol i dl the motherboard instruction mannual, turns out one of the wires that clips into the board had come off the pin, so it was just a case of using the instructions to see where it went. problem solved. thanks anyway everybody.
