Just look around you and figure everyone looks as stupid as everyone else. Then move and don't stop until you're on the floor from exhaustion. |

Yes, there are definetely videos that can teach you to dance in a style that will ensure you own the floor at your local nightclub. But personally I think that you really need lessons to get any good and to make the most of your time and money.
I've danced at a competitive level and can safely tell you that if I could learn to dance no-one in this world will have any trouble if they put in a little effort and get through the slight shame factor which most guys have about dancing. Dancing has changed much in recent years away from only being about boring older styles that are popular with people that have just left relationships to offering a wide range of fun, groovy and styles that you can use when you go clubbing.
If you want to dance at clubs the main style you want to learn is 'funk'.
I'm a big fan of 'Cardio Funk', and I'm sure there are classes near you. If you take a 3 month course, which is usually done once per week, practise a little at home in between, you'll out dance the majority of people out clubbing. As said, you can buy a video, like at here x but its kinda like learning martial arts, or yoga by video, pretty damn hard.
But seriously, take a class, you'll find that most people have 2 left feet and no sense of rhythm, but after a few weeks you will be kicking arse, and its a great way to stay fit as well. If you throw in a few salsa dance lessons you'll learn to move those hips as well. |
