They had that driving dark trance sound, which now days some people would classify as "progressive".
Any artists today that carry that similar style? Trying to get back to the roots :). |

There are *very* few artists these days that produce in the 98-00 progressive trance sound. It's really sad, actually. Hopefully it will return one day.
Nikola Gala - Subterra and Nick Muir - Vision of U are just about the only driving Twilo-styled trancers I've heard in the past year or two. |

Not since 2002 or earlier.
Evolution made Blaster since Walking On Fire, that's about it. Progressive Trance died around 2002 after a final hurrah with Beauty Never Fades. Only Max Graham has really carried the torch since then. |

Those producers don't even come close. The pre-2000 sound had a different depth to it... Evolution has been around for a while, but their recent work isn't as good. |

Exactly! I don't know what it is, but the way the tracks were made then just have this whole other...level.
Anyone heard sets recently with this style?
I went to a party last night and our local DJ played this bangin set that reminded me of diggers, now I can't get enough of it :p. Actually maybe I should just ask him. |

I'm going to start on that in the near future, actually. I tried production a long while back and probably wouldn't be half bad if I put some time into it.
But I feel cheap for doing it with software alone. Part of me wants to save up for synths. |
