I dunno, maybe that massive climactic moment sweeping over mind and body right after the breakdown... the minute that lasts for one second.
Yeah, what was everyone raving about? And where the HELL is the supersaw?! |

| WOW talk about late! It may not sound AMAZING today but it is one of the most classic trance tracks. You either get it or you don't. The first time I heard it was in Oakenfold's "Tranceport" album when I bought it in 2002 and I thought it was GOLD! |

| Which mix did you hear? |

lol over 10 years late.
you had to be there to appreciate how great it was, particularly around 98-99 when the 3n1 mix took to a whole new level. If i remember correctly it was rated the best trance track of all time not so long ago. |

| the kid paul mix of cafe del mar (i belive the origional mix is acutlaly called the kid paul mix, since kid paul and cosmic baby wrote it) is very mellow, the three n one mix is probably the most often played/canned of this track. on of my favocites although i really really really like the nalin and kane mix as well as the solar stone mix. it truly is a classic track. the numerous remixes offer a bit of everything for everybody. i think there is over 20 mixes of it.... you can check discogs tho. |

I've told this a million and one times before but Original Mix isn't Kid Paul Mix even if it is commonly known as being it. Original Mix was never released but was played once or twice by Cosmic Baby in his DJ sets in late 91 or so. Kid Paul & Cosmic Baby dumped it soon after but due requests from their closest friends they decided to dig it up and rebuild it.
In late 92 they finally finished working with their own views about the track and were wondering about a release.. Original Mix is like a combination of Kid Paul Mix & Cosmic Baby's Impression, both using elements from it. Anyways, before the release was reality they got 2 more mixes, Kid Paul made another rebuilt version (Peace Mix) and an "outside" remix from Ralf "1/2 of Cygnus X & Sven Väth's partner in crime" Hildenbeutel (Porte de Bagnolet Mix). The release pretty obviously came out in 1993 on Eye Q, founded and ran by Sven Väth, Heinz Roth and Matthias "Brainchild & other 1/2 of Cygnus X" Hoffmann, and the rest is history....
As for what version meneedit heard, i can only wonder as there are several mislabeled mixes out there titled as Original Mix. I have 2 strong guesses for it to have been either Three'n'One Remix or Nalin & Kane Remix as those have most often been mislabeled as Original in DJ sets. Kid Paul mix might be it too but it hasn't been played in about any sets for about 10 years. I can be 99.99% sure it isn't the real Original Mix anyway.
I have posted all the more or less official mixes of Café Del Mar in several threads about this track so dig'em up yourself. |
