i just got a new computer and i went to install my LEGAL copy of my microsoft office, and it asked me to activate it, so I hit next and its like, you cant activate because we already have a record of you activating it.
like wtf is that ? i paid for the ing software and now I cant use it because I upgraded? what a bunch of s. goes to show while people continually pirate their software. |

Call them and theyll correct the issue. Make sure youve got your product key and the products serial number.
Microsoft's new anti-piracy movement will crumble when people realize that Linux has been dumbed down for the average 50 year old. And it's free. I think we should insist that all government offices run Linux and Open Office (and other OS software) to save incredible amounts of tax revenue. |

well its on my laptop and my other desktop, but that shouldnt matter.
maybe you only get so many activations before they lock you out.
but like, i bought the software, im using it in my home, im not giving it to people, i should be able to install it on all the machines in my house w/o any problems. |

It shouldn't be a problem if you call customer support and tell them what youve said here. I did this once with my roomates Windows XP and it worked fine. Just make sure youve got the items listed above. Or look for information online dealing with similar problems maybe? |

You can't reactivate it, if it is being installed on a new computer with a different model motherboard.
^ I know that's the case with Windows XP anyway.
You will have to call the ba$tards and explain that and they should be able to help you. |

go microsoft!
people who pirate: get crack for activiation and don't have to deal with anything, no hassle
people who don't pirate: go through pain in the ass activation and have a hassle sometimes.
summary: anti-piracy does nothing but cause grieve for the honest person. anything thats protected can be unprotected. |
