For many years of my life my true dream was to become a professional DJ...this summer after a ton of working I finally got the money for Technics. My mom said I had to do good in school 'n' such and I am (A's and B's)...so I say for Christmas, lemme buy decks/carts and my rents buy mixer and a few records.
They say my dream is pointless and give me the question "What would you do with them?"
After telling them billions of times i'm going to be mixing songs they still don't see any hints of letting me buy the decks. They say, "It's too much money. You'll have to wait until you're in college." But I wanna blow out the competition by the time I'm in college! Somebody help me!! What should I do? I need these decks! |

Yeah, I know what you mean.
When I told my Dad I was gonna buy some vinyl, he looked at me like I was crazy and said, "I thought vinyl was a thing of the past, what the hell do you need it for?!!"

This dick head friend of mine called scot was round at my house the other day.
We where in the garage looking at my car,and we had the following conversation:
Zak:Ive spent the last 5 days washing,t-cutting,and waxing it, looks smart eh?
Scot: Yeah, it's lookin minted m8, bet you cant wait to drive it.
Zak: Yeah, i know, get out there with my tunes pumpin and stuff.
Scot:Yeah
ZaK: I want a set of alloys for it. At christmas, im either going to get technics or compomotive alloys.
Scott: Get alloys, not decks,i mean it not like your going to be a dj is it?
What a wank.People love saying to me i wont be a music producer, or i wont be a dj, just because they cant do all apart from smoke dope and play a playstation,
Just makes me want to do it more and more, but sometimes i agree with them.
Pisses me of man.
And this other friend of mine, a fat wank called jonny, who can probably just manage to wire a plug, always asks me to give him cd's of myself mixing, which i do.
Now i am not bieng big headed, but the mixes i make for him are really fantastic, i know i am good.
But he never say things like "Thanks" or "That mix is really good".
He only sez things like "I know a better mix of this" (Bull).
And there is this other guy he knows who SUX at mixing, and he comes away with stories like "I was at his the other day, and he done this in unbelieveable mix man, you should get lessons.
When even all this other dj does is say things like "Your mixes rock"
And "I love your tracks youve made, can i get them on vinyl?"
Pisse me off.its like all my friends want to do is put me down, and dont want to give me praise, cuz then they think they will be admitting im some sort of better person than them. Which is utter bull.
Does anybody else experience this ? |
