Actual lyrics, or weird gibberish?

I know, this may sound like it makes no sense intially, but bear with me here. Recently, producers such as Whiteroom have made tracks like... well... "Whiteroom" that have vocals, yet they make absolutely no sense. Yet, this track was deemed "track of the year 2004". Though other tracks, such as "Satellite", and the allllways popular "Silence" have actual, discernable vocals.
Which do you like better, random, trippy, roll-happy gibberish. Orrrr an attempt at coherence? |

| I can't really say. I guess it depends on the track surrounding it and and what the lyrics are. Vocals with no discernable lyrics can sound very interesting and atmospheric in some tracks such as Beat Foundation - Foundations II and Mothers Pride - Floribunda, and I would not have them any other way with those tracks. However, there are many tracks which just would never be the same without the lyrics, such as any Space Brothers track. |

It depends on the song, because I absolutely love Satellite by OceanLab, (one of the very best vocal trance ever--not THE best though). Personally, I never did like Silence that much by S.McLachlan, her voice sounds way too emotional and stressed singing that "Silence" over and over, and the song isnt hypnotic---but it is a fairly decent song and deserves respect. I even tried listening to it over and over so it would grow on me but it did very little.
I'll vote gibberish because actual lyrics aren't requisite for a good trance tune. |

Random gibberish. Actual lyrics if, and only if, there's something really deep to be said.
Random vowels don't count, by the way. |

| Doesn't really matter to me but some tracks work with both and some only with the other.. for example Holden & Thompson - Nothing (93 Returning Mix) works fine even if the vocals from original have been cut into pieces you have no real clue about.. just like what Moor & White did on The White Room with BT's Remember by using some vocal excerpts and chants from it and still made it sound good. |
