From Canada to Australia - in need of info

Hello All!
I am a Canadian that has just moved to the middle of nowhere in NSW (Dubbo) and am desperately missing dancing/music that I am so used to (coming from Toronto). I am planning a trip to Sydney for this coming up weekend and would love any info anyone could offer. Any ideas of where to stay? What to see? Where to dance? Etc...
Over the next few months I plan on travelling all over, so I would love info on other major cities as well.

Hey mate, a massive party called twotribes on this weekend in Sydney if youre keen on big events .. Rank1, Signum & Push/M.I.K.E are playing along with a bundle of other DJ's/performers of other genres .. you can still get tickets too but apparently theyre about to run out.
Otherwise, like sly said, check out the info/clubbing thread for clubs around the city etc |

Well you could go see Infected Mushroom on friday night or go to 2 tribes on Sat night. Checkout www.inthemix.com.au in the sydney section for whats on.

Anita's right. Come to two tribes here in melbourne, its on the 13th of march. There's a pile of us going (I can think of ~30 off the top of my head - and there's a fair bit off the top of my head already!) Everyone knows Melb is way, way better than Sydney when it comes to going out and going off! Heck even DJ NuERA (hugely famous canadian dj) will be in town for two tribes - just look for the swarm of women around him.
We'll sort out discounted tickets for you, pick you up at the airport and find you a cheap hostel in the fun part of the city, and when the sun comes up, we'll play all the tragically hip and 54-40 you can handle! :D i'd let you stay at my place (i live with two canadian girls already) but its a bit cozy here as it is...
Or you could go to Sydney and have a crappy time, I suppose. :o
seriously my job at uni for the past couple years has been running orientation for incoming international students - so its a no brainer to find you everything you need.

Mardi Gras is on this weekend on Sydney. That can't be missed if you're a tourist. Two Tribes is also on if your into that kind of thing. Personally Dave Seaman is the only dj I would see there if I were going, the rest are cheesy trance =) jk dont hate me Tranceaddicts!
MArdi gras is a big night so there wont be any shortage of partys all over sydney this saturday. Plenty of clubs pubs and bars to choose from if you ask me. Much better than Melbourne though the melb's will tell you otherwise, they suffer from an inferiority complex from being the smaller, less cosmopolitan, and crappier-weather-prone retarded sibling =))

dubbo? i'm betting you have relatives there or something otherwise i'm puzzled as to why you'd go to dubbo of all places :conf:
if you're coming to syd and need a dance fix then two tribes is where it's at.
