Did you try pushing the "Easy" button?
Oh wait.. that doesn't exist..
There are a few demo .rns files posted here. I know of a couple posted by DJ-Igloo. Search for his nick and "reason" in just thread titles for the Production Studio. |

have you done any research on creating trance sounds in any program?
insight.. hmm
layering, eq, audioSplitter/Merger, delay and reverb
2x subtrackers -> both osc on (saw).. 1 set +18 cent, the other - 20cent -> unison -> eq: drop of the low end, cut out the any screaching his, enhance the upper mid.. (use multiple eqs on this)-> Merge the 2 sounds together, 1st delay, dry 12, left, feedback half, 3 step -> 2nd delay, set dry 12, right, feedback half, 4 step -> reverb: hall, bright, dry 12-15..
there you go.. hehe
but seriously.. just play, read, and experement.. |

You dont have to make smart remarks when someone ask's a question. Some people simply just don't have the same type of experience and knowledge that other have. Hence the point of asking a question. Im sorry if you have to be a punk about it and enjoy critizing people seeking out help.
Acell. Thanks for the help. I dont really have any experience in creating trance synths so I could use all the help I can get. Thanks though and appreciate you generousity,\. |

okay okay dont have to get so touchy.. I appologise I guess my humor came out the wrong way.. :) ANd yes of course everyone had to start somewhere. Moral is dont expect ready made stuff, you gotta do some tweakin for it to sound "just right", of course everyone's "just right" is different and thats what makes us unique.
1st as suggested DO a search!... also what I would recommend is to download some of the synths ready made from people on the reason boards. There are a great deal of good start synths which you can tweak to your linking, pay attention to the lfo settings as well as to what synthesis waves were picked because the combinations of different waves produce different sounding synths. eg. a saw or square wave synth ala Darude, as well as the decay settings the lower the decay the more round the synth will sound, the higher the decay means that it will have a paddy effect to it for stuff like rank 1. U can also experiement with different pitch settings for each wave. eg. one wave will have a + 6 and another will have a -6, 7 etc so they sound a bit out of key for the cry effect which I am a personal fan of, also imitated with portamento jackedup a bit. Unfortunately reason synths will never sound as good as some of their hardware counterparts due to lack of further oscilator options, I think reason only gives you two which isnt bad. One cool trick is using a slightly tad of distortion(almost gentle overdrive) like tiesto used on his synth for, aba.. for strings to make the synth appear more warm. However you can only take this so far, as compared to a nord lead running through a neve channel ie. no comparison. Still results are great if you get creative. I hope this gives you a good starting point. Further questions just pm me.
Okay.. lol now I am going to make some more music hehehe lol .. we're cool? SOrry again.. hehe :) i can be a smart ass at times.

| Thanks for the help and everything is cool. Its hard to tell when people are joking when its stuff typed out on the web. I appreciate you taking the time to give me some help. I am hoping to purchase Logic 7 Pro soon and then after that would like to get some hardware so I can upgrade from Reason. Everyone keeps saying different synths for what the feel are the best. If I am looking for a sound like Mark van Linden and your typical Vandit sounds or Armin's Communication, would you happen to know which synths they use? |
