Moments Are Forever...how is this melody?

well...i mean its good in a way although i think you hit too many notes simultaneously about half way through, striking a few large chords and it sounds cluttered. i also think some of the notes in harmony are off.
the only thing about it that i could really criticise is:
1) the piano synth/soundfont/patch/fl keys? sounds absolutely shat. but i guess you could always import it into a decent steinway model c soundfont or better.
2) it sounds super cheesy! like, i can imagine this playing in a pokemon style anime in some equally cheesy romantic scene (usually after the geeky fop of a protagonist saves a girl from a class from some raging 10 foot tall robot or something. covered in cheese.) |

i mean it could work in a ferry corsten capacity. but i always thought most of his stuff was ballroom cheese anyway. |

people aren't trying to be hard or anything...
it's just that there's been too many "how is this melody?" threads lately...
And for the most part, the melodies are nothing special... All i hear is a I - VI - IV - V chord progression... using a similar repeated pattern for each note... there really is nothing special about this... I'm sorry if I sound like an ass.. but that's my own opinion.. the piano is too hard sounding... there are no dynamics with the notes.. each note sounds the same but with different pitch
I am really getting tired of "uplifting trance" tracks that base their whole thing on one melody and expect that melody to carry the whole track...
Anyone can write a melody... it's not what your melody sounds like... in the end it is how your track sounds like... melodies are easy... arrangements aren't easy... |

Melodywise I like measures 1-6 fine, getting a little offtrack in 7, worse in 8. It doesn't seem to want to finish there. Starting measure 9 the harmony sounds off to me. I think it has potential depending on what you can do with the rest of the track.
Personally, if I'm unsure on the quality of my melody I have a hard time getting the motivation to put the time and effort into trying to make it a great track. Good luck. |

this is part of my problem with these forums. if you have absolutely nothing constructive to add to a post - just dont hit the post button. just dont do it. it just makes everyone more stupid overall having to sift through useless text. thank god there are people like degradation around here that are polite enough to stop by and give a little bit feedback and wish this guy a little bit of luck. its something we could all use a bit more of.

final call. im not sure exactly how we can comment on your melody aside from a technical standpoint. i think its cheesy. but that may be deliberate on your part. it could also be that i just have an aversion to corsten type trance (which i do) since the man seems to be pretty popular around here. what kind of feeling are you shooting for? |

| hey...geeze u guys are hard...anywayz.I just made the melody in 10 mins..and i know it is cheezy.Also..i wish i could make it into a track....but currently i cant b/c the comp im on right now is really slow and i cant barely produce on it.Derivative..i was going for a happy uplifting feel...but i gotta wait till i get my laptop to start producing agian...sry to everyone if i pissed them off |
