I think it has more to do with U2 sueing the out of NU NRG.
There are laws and it's a direct copy of their melody basically and U2 is like LUCAS FILMS, SO TIGHT about any kind of remixes or music released. no joke.

That's probably the Johnny Vicious Mix which was made in 1999. Pretty decent version IMO. |
