I can see how it may appear that way, but maybe you're misinterpreting the true nature of capitalism. In a pure form, there is not as strong an emphasis placed on morality and ethics. However, if it were to continue to function in such a cut-throat manner, it would never float. Thus the major flaw of capitalism. If everyone were motivated to work, everyone would have a fair chance. However, due to human nature, this would never work. Lets face it, most of us are just lazy-asses who think they deserve more than they get. The fact that the majority of the populace functions with this idea leads to a possibility of a lot of unrest. Thus we are robbed of our own hard earned money in order to provide social services as a way to 'hide' the unjustness of the cycle. In effect, we are pulling the blanket over our own eyes. To a degree, you are correct. Socialism is used as a tool by our system to hide the huge discrepancies inherent to it. However, that does not change the fact that we are still living under a pure capitalist system. Pure in it's applicatio, because once applied, it is changed to include aspects of many other doctrines, socialism included. |

If you are single mother with kids and no education there is no incentive to work. Why? because benefits far outweigh a low paying job.
Not to mention that we spend almost half of all taxes on health care and yet waiting times have never been worse. And look at the billions that have been stolen! And thats just the stuff we know about!
Its seriously time to give another party a chance to govern. Someone who will respect our money as being our money. |

it's funny how you can take something and change it around to suit your liking.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Commision (OLGC) paid for the casino upgrade on it's own. The OLGC actually recieves very little funding from tax payers. It's all done through lottery ticket buying and the casino's themselves. No need to be outraged on this particular point. |

I'm afraid that if you trully believe that such a day will come in your lifetime, you're as naive as they get. Another party will have another agenda, but the means by which they implement that aganda, YOUR money, will not change, thus the problems you've had before will not get any better. |

Actually it was the Ontario government that directly invested this recent money. |

You are somewhat right. But clearly there are some parties and leaders that would be more reckless with our money than others. |
