The 11th Annual World Electronic Music Festival (WEMF2005) will take place on a picturesque exhibition ground just north of Toronto, Canada from July 8-10, 2005. The venue is the ideal setting for what has become Canada's preeminent electronic music event of the year. It is now the largest, longest running and most anticipated event of its kind in North America. With ample space for parking, camping and daytime activities of all kinds, the site becomes the ultimate concert venue as the sun sets each night. With music from dusk till dawn in 3 massive hangar-like structures, thousands dance the night away in blissful comfort.
Over the past decade, some of the biggest names in dance music have graced the stages of WEMF. In total, over 200 artists are booked each year with hundreds more playing on independent stages set up by patrons throughout the campgrounds. Two main stages cater to Trance, House, Techno, Breaks, DnB & Jungle with smaller sub stages providing hardcore, psychedelic and ambient beats to complete the full spectrum of electronic dance sounds.
Traveling to WEMF each year has become the thing to do for those who want an experience of a lifetime. In the past decade, well over 100,000 people have experienced the WEMF phenomenon. License plates from 20 states and 5 provinces were observed last year and busses were chartered from cities such as Montreal, New York, Chicago and Washington, DC to name just a few. WEMF has truly become the destination of choice for music lovers across the Northeast of the USA and Canada.

It's called 'Park Place' now. If WEMF takes place here (Barrie) this year...well yay for me!! |

the closer the better. I hope i can make it this year, it would be my first time.
camping and trancing sounds like a blast, and an entire weekend!
in your experiences, do the locals, and independant stages give the 'big acts' a run for their money? or is it just a bunch of up and comin djs have some fun? |
